ikey solomon fagin ?
 

Hiya...trying to help someone here in Liverpool find relatives of
Ikey Solomon Fagin...moved to Liverpool , so wasn`t born there....I cannot find anything about him on Freebmd /lan-opc ..they haven`t given any dates , so I`m a little blind at the moment..so it doesn`t look like he was born in England / Wales.....would it be possible for a little help please...going to look for him on census returns......allan:confused:

Any idea of dates? There is a Solomon Fagin in 1911 b 1870 Russia Resident with a wife called Rose and a number of kids, living 34 Bedford St Liverpool

There are records of a Solomon Fagin (birthplace listed as Russia in 1869/1870) with wife Rose in Liverpool in 1891 and 1901. Also a death in Liverpool South in Dec qtr 1946.

Incoming passenger lists have a Solomon Fagin coming from New York to Southampton in 1923, although there appears to be another Solomon Fagin in London at about the same time so this may be that one.

I've also found a possible marriage to a Rose Isaacs in Merthyr Tydfil in 1890.
Probably the correct marriage as in 1891 Solomon & Rose are living with 'brother-in-law' Samuel Isaacs. Both men are 'Travelling Drapers'.

In 1901 Solomon living at 3 Moira Street, West Derby with wife Rose, 4 children and 2 servants. He is listed as a 'Draper and House Furnisher' and listed as 'employer'.

Thank you all girls...I wasn`t sure if this was a wind up.....with the Dickens character being the same name...so...I will check whether ROSE was his wife...this does look very likely as Moira street is 4 miles from me and the lady concerned was on a South Liverpool Genealogy thread...so it looks good....I presume it would be OK to refer her to this thread ???.....allan:)

According to 1911 Gores Directory of Liverpool & suburbs, Solomon Fagin, house furnisher (Atlas Furniture Company) was living at 7 Clarendon Terrace, Beaumont Street, S.
