Is there any way of turning off the AI hints that pop up on the side of the page while searching on Ancestry? They seem to have just started recently and are seriously doing my head in! They tell me nothing, and I just have to keep closing them.

There seems to be a lot of new stuff, impeding searches. I am being directed to a map and have then to scroll back up, while there is a magnifying glass over the image, which is less than useless as it only highlights a small area.

Go to your Account Settings, select Trees, scroll down to Hint Notifications, click on New hint indicator at top of page, and untick the box(es). I already had them all unticked, so I can't be sure that is what you're asking about though.

It says Beta, so I am assuming it is something new they are trialing and it is a complete pain! I will try contacting them to tell them that and ask how I can remove it! I also agree with Phoenix about the magnifying box - worse than useless.

Using the AI chat, I have worked out that it only happens when I am looking at a family tree and click on one of the links in the tree. If I go out of the tree view and search for that record directly, then it does not happen.
AI chat also tells me there is no way to turn that off at the moment.
