Walter Maurice Murphy
Born 1843 (MURPHY, WALTER MORRIS TANNER GRO Reference: 1843 J Quarter in SAINT LUKE MIDDLESEX Volume 02 Page 274 )
Died West Ham 1923. He was the son of Maurice Murphy and Ann nee Tanner. Where was he (and his parents!) in 1851 and 1861? Here is the family before he was born in 1841: https://www.ancestry.co.uk/interacti...&usePUBJs=true

I can't find them in 1861 but they could be in one of the missing pieces.

It actually read as Merty. Maurice's Irish accent must have been very broad!

Thank you so much! The girls were married from 17 Charles Street, so there's no doubt it's them. But this does beg the question why, if Maurice's accent was so strong, he was saying he was born south of the river?
