This could be his burial on NBI3

William Collins buried 9 March 1838 aged 68 at St George's, Trotton

There are a few other Collins burials there too. pm me your email addy

Thanks Margaret, but I renewed my sub last month to the Sussex Family History Group and so I have access to the burials, just posting this up reminded me I hadn't looked for him yet! Thanks for taking the trouble though. I've had a look and he's "of Terwick" which is where his daughter married and is the next parish so it looks hopeful.

March 1838, Terwick, Sussex There are two males called William Collins who died in the same quarter and district so if I get the death cert it will have to be from the local office rather than the GRO so I can specify the age and parish of death.

I now have William's death certificate, he died at Terwick from typhus fever on 5 Mar 1838 and the informant was his widow Sarah.
