William Pope and Mary are named as parents in baptism of
John Pope
14 Aug 1768, St. Merryn, Cornwall.

A couple of possible marriages on Cornwall OPC:
William Pope, sailor, and Mary Rogers 12 Sep 1761 at St Columb Minor

William Pope of St Wenn (sojourner) and Mary Johns of St Wenn 27 Apr 1761 at Withiel, witnesses Francis Parkings and Zacharias Johns.

A William Pope was buried on 1st January 1801 at St Merry. Unfortunately no age is given.

His son William had already died and been buried in 1772 at St Merryn, so it isn't him.
