Name - "official" name and what they were known as

1st April 1888 at Paddingham, Winscombe, Somerset

Names of parents

Henry Robert Clark and Mary Louisa née Buck

Details of each of his or her marriages - if any - and any divorces

8th Nov 1917 at All Saints, Wyke Regis, Dorset to Winifred May Harriet Maynard

Occupation(s) - if any

Before WW1 - Graphic designer for various companies including Poole Pottery, Sanderson's Wallpapers, Liberty's
After WW1 - Same as before, but trained as an Architect from about 1922/23
1925 - 1930 - Architect for the Cyprus Asbestos Company in Amiandos Cyprus.
1930-1939 - In architectural private practice in Regent's St, London
After WW2 - 1957 - In architectural private practice in Grey's Inn, Holborn, London
1957 officially retired, but worked from home until the day he died (literally).


Military service - if any

WW1 2nd Lieutenant, Lieutenent in 1st bt Dorset Regiment
WW2 Captain then Major in Royal Engineers

I don't feel comfortable adding all his full addresses as many of them are the same places my mother lived and she is still living....So I'm listing the areas:

1907-1914 London (don't have any addresses for this period except 1911, Shepherd's Bush)
WW1 based in Dorset

1930-1931 Bayswater, Middlesex
1931-1934 Bengeo, Herts
1934-1937 Hertford, Herts
1937-1939 Broxbourne, Herts
1939-1943 Swindon, Wilts
1943-1945 Bulford, Wilts
1945-1946 Chiswick, Middlesex
1946-1957 Twickenham, Middlesex
1957-1965 Adderbury, Oxon


Date, place and cause of death

20th April 1965 at Moorey House, Church Lane, Adderbury, Oxfordshire of coronary thrombosis and coronary atheroma, aged 77

Date and place of burial / cremation.

Cremated at Oxford Crematorium, but I don't have the date.

Details of will / administration of their estate - if applicable

May 1965

Memorial inscription - if any

His name and terminal dates are on the grave of his daughter near where I live.

Oooh just remembered someone on FB told me they were having issues with their Maynards......

Sorry, had to tell you.....lol

Maybe I'm just trying to get the name "Clark" out of my brain...lol
