If the one on the left is Catherine then the one on the right looks older than her and Catherine was next in age to my grandmother.
When was the pic taken do you think? Here is my grandmother in 1916 so aged 19 and again in 1925 on her wedding day aged 28.

I was about to say it might not be any of her sisters

Yes I suppose I do resemble my fathers side of the family. At the age of 14 I thought a photo of my mum was me but as I get older I can see my dads three sisters when I look in the mirror.

I was wondering that.
If that is Catherine on the left and she isn't wearing a wedding ring then the pic is pre 1922. The woman on the right looks older to me. How old in comparison to grandmother (Mary Ellen) and to Catherine would you think she was? edit to say that Aunty Daisy did wonder if it was Catherine on the left but was baffled by the woman on the right.

I wouldn't have said that the one on the right was older.
Wondered if the 'touching' rules might help but this is all I have (posted on Roots) which doesn't help at all but is interesting. 'I am touching her because she is my sister. I am not touching anyone else because they are only friends.' 'I am touching her because she is my wife, and belongs to me.' 'I am touching him because he is my husband and master. He is touching the boy because he thinks he is his son (but he doesn't know about the gardener) (sorry couldn't resist the last one)' Sis on right is displaying her wrist watch ~ no rings showing on any of them.

Can't see that anyone is touching anyone. Grandmother has her arm draped around the back of the chair.

Yes that probably denotes touching in some way .... or might not of course

I find those 'touching rules' very interesting, Rachel. |

The photographer wants a nicely composed pic. Conclusion ~ they are sisters
