Looking at the baptism for Anne Burgin 1777 Venn Ottery, can you read what it says after the baptism of her and her brother? I think it says "Anne was born" and the date not added, presuming that they're not twins and she is older?

That's how I would read it, Asa. A person from Porlock moment. A register like that looks suspiciously as though the incumbent sat down once a year to write up his scattered notes. And if he couldn't read his jottings, or was interrupted, they might be meaningless.
He probably meant to fill the detail in later, and just never got round to it.

Thank you, Phoenix - I've got her death certificate today and it's much neater if she wasn't baptised as a newborn but was a year or two old :-)
