I now have confirmation that Anne Parrott's parents were definitely a John and Jane Parrott, so I'm hoping my theory is correct.

I had downloaded a newspaper cutting some time ago and this is what it says:

JOHN PARROTT, Deceased

Notice is herby given to all Persons having any Demands on the Estate of JOHN PARROTT, late of the Parish of Thame, in the County of Oxford, deceased, late a Sheep Salesman in Smithfield, are desired to give an Account thereof to Mr. Burnham, Attorney, at Aylesbury; or to Mr. Thomas Rose, Successor to Mr. Parrott in that Business, at his Office at the Bull and Butcher in Smithfield, on Friday Mornings, in order that the same may be satisfied. And all Persons indebted to the Estate of the said John Parrot, are required to pay their respective Debts within two Months from the Date hereof to the said Mr. Burnham, at Aylesbury; or to Mr. Rose, in Smithfield, or they will be sued for the same without further Notice. Dated this 20th Day of Feb. 1790.

Yet more evidence connecting the Parrott family to the Rose family.

I have joined the P*rr*t Society (a one name study) and they had a burial for John Parrott at Wooton Underwood.

We have just returned from Aylesbury and I looked at the PR for Wotton Underwood and found the following:

Entry in the parish register for Wotton Underwood, Buckinghamshire:

"1789
Sept.r 10th John Parrott of Lubberstone Hill in the Parish of Thaame
Son of Michael and Anne"

I found details of John's admon. yesterday on Origins - many thanks to KiteRunner and JayG.

All I need now is his MI - and I'd love to know the cause of death.
