Possible burial: Robert Wade 25 Jun 1769 at St George Tombland, Norwich, age 63, but I don't know whether this is him.
Edit - pretty sure it is him now as it is the same place that Susanna was buried.

There is a Robert Wade christened 18 Jan 1707 at St Paul, Norwich, son of Thomas and Mary, which would fit with my Robert's eldest son (that I know of) being named Thomas.

Just found that FreeREG2 has the marriage of Robert Wake, widower, OTP, and Susanna Man, spinster, OTP, 7 Mar 1735/6 at St George Colegate, Norwich. That must surely be them! Off to look for it on FamilySearch.
Edit - yes, it is Wade. So now I need to find his first marriage.

His first marriage is probably 8 Jan 1726/7 at St George Tombland to Elizabeth Papes. Both single, OTP. There is an Elizabeth Wade burial at St George Tombland 24 Oct 1732. Two baptisms at St Simon and St Jude who could be their children: Mary 7 Jun 1730 and Bridget 10 Oct 1732, but Bridget's mother's name is given as Mary.

So, since it looks as though Robert did have a daughter called Mary, and was married before his marriage to Susanna, it looks very likely that he is the son of Thomas and Mary, baptised in 1707.

Thomas Wade married Mary Woods 10 Apr 1699 at St Paul, Norwich. Their other children apart from Robert were: Andrew 1699, Bridgett 1701, Mary 1703 and Susan 1705. So it looks likely that Thomas is the one christened 4 Jun 1676 at St George Tombland, Norwich, son of Andrew Wade. Andrew's other children were: Andrew 1679, John 1680, Brigit 1681 and Alexander 1686, and there is an Andrew Wade christened 28 Sep 1651 at St George Colegate, Norwich, son of Robert and Margaret, but I can't see Andrew Wade's marriage at the moment. Still, getting back that far is pretty good! I would like to find a Robert, son of Andrew, though, to confirm the Andrew baptism is the right one, before looking for Robert and Margaret's marriage etc.

FamilySearch has the baptism of a Robt Wade, son of Andrew and Susanna, 11 May 1673 at Aylsham, Norfolk. Also a Margreat Wade, daughter of Andrew and Susanna, 28 Dec 1671 at Aylsham. And no more at Aylsham that I can see, so it looks hopeful.

So, I've now got a likely line of descent for Robert Wade as far back as Andrew Wade and Agnes Clayden who married 24 Jun 1612. Four generations added on since I started this round of TF6G!

Well done Kite! I've found that these threads really do focus the mind - even when I can't post I find myself looking back at what I do have to try and find something new. Though I must admit to being slightly envious that you've got back that far.....!
