Ancestry has the baptism of an Eliz, daughter of Will and Eliz Rodes, 8 May 1757 at Wolstanton (in their Staffordshire Extracted Parish Records database). Looks likely, and my Elizabeth did have a son named William.

And this looks like her in 1841:
1841 census

Chesterton, Wolstanton, Staffordshire
Elizabeth Beech 85 Y

Interestingly, the previous family on the census are John Holland, 30, Elizabeth 30, Mary 5, Hannah 3, Elizabeth 1, John 10 months, Mary Beech, 15, all born in county except John sr. My Elizabeth's son John Beech born 1776 had a wife called Hannah born about 1779, died 1821, and we think she was Hannah Holland (marriage 1 May 1800 at Cheadle, Cheshire) but not managed to prove this yet. I need to look into this tomorrow.

There are a few possible deaths in Wolstanton district on FreeBMD - I will see if I can figure out which one it is tomorrow.

There is an Elizabeth Beech buried at Tunstall 5 Aug 1847, age 91, abode Tunstall, which looks likely to be her. The other Elizabeth Beech deaths in Wolstanton reg district between 1841 and 1851 are ruled out by their ages on burials (on FMP.)

I found her parents' marriage: William Rhodes married Elizabeth Machin 5 Nov 1745 at Wolstanton.

The Holland family who were next door to Elizabeth Beech in 1841, in 1851:
http://interactive.ancestry.co.uk/88...c=&pid=8285517

John Holland sr is 41, born Cheshire Stockport, so he could be a relative of my possible Hannah Holland - perhaps her nephew? His marriage is 28 Jul 1835 at Wolstanton to an Elizabeth Beech. In 1851 Elizabeth is 41 born Staffordshire Newcastle. There are a few possible baptisms for her on FamilySearch.

But maybe this is all a red herring!
