Default Hampshire - FMP have added early baptisms

235,160 records added.

I haven't investigated yet but this could really help me with my pre-1754 records.

Edit: also marriages and burials

These are all transcriptions without images as far as I can tell from the blog. Ancestry should soon be making the pre-1813 images available for parts of Hampshire (not including Portsmouth, for example) to go with the post-1813 images that they have already put online.

HGS over many years have been transcribing parish records and other materials useful to family historians. I pored over their 1851 census indexes when they appeared.

Their income, like so many other societies, will collapse when Ancestry finally puts images online.

However, since Find My Past's parish knowledge is vastly superior to Ancestry, and Ancestry has a habit of not filming chunks of datasets, the transcripts will still prove useful.
