I found him!!!!
Sorry, I've not posted in ages but life kinda gets in the way sometimes! Anyway - I've been searching for a baptism for my GGrandfather probably since I started this in 2005(?) and have been unable to.
Well, today I remembered Ancestry has Non-Conformist registers now so checked for West Yorkshire and it was there. Thought I'd have a look for him since it was new and lo-and-behold - there he was! I'm in total shock/amazement and just had to tell someone! I can't link him to my FTM yet (same thing happened with the last WY registers) but I'm just glad he's there. Off to look for the others now!

I found the same thing. Unable to hook up to FTM. So thanks, Tracy, I'm glad to know it's not just something I'm doing wrong. Really happy for you that you've found someone you've been looking for so long.
These non-con registers are a gold mine, but you really have to go below ground with a pick and a shovel and a strong light! The search facility will only get you so far, and then you have to browse but it's well worth it. |
