Default Henry CRICKMORE MFFF

Name - "official" name and what they were known as
Henry CRICKMORE

Date and place of birth
There's the rub. He insists on 4 Census & attestation papers (1831-1881) that he was born in Eye, Suffolk. The date he's a little uncertain about (1801-1811) but c. 1808 I think most likely as he gave his age as 23 on his attestation in 1831.

Hmm, since it's you, Glen, I don't suppose there's much chance of any of us turning up his baptism! And presumably his marriage makes no mention of who his father was?

No, but I live in hope.

It's just so annoying, as marrying in 1846 should at least have given me his father's name but because it was a Catholic marriage in Ireland; no such luck.

There is a CRICKMORE family in Eye but no Henry & the names used just don't 'feel' right. As he only baptised 3 of his own children & one of those was in Ireland so he didn't have much choice, the most logical answer is that he wasn't baptised but I'd be delighted to be proved wrong.
