Diane,

Have you tried Norwood Cemetery for THomas' burial? It is possible he is buried there.

I was looking for the parents but I might have found brother John in 1871. He is also a plasterer:

RG number: RG10 Piece: 841 Folio: 87 Page: 7

Address:
Sydenham Terrace, Croydon

He is with wife Sarah and son Edward aged 2.
However, they are entered by the enumerator as "Shildrick"

I do believe that is them, Thomas entered John as his father on his marriage, a mistake, not unheard of but made things very difficult, the occupation ships steward was correct so that did help.

Edward, his father, is my real brickwall, he was a ships steward so who knows what might have happened to him. Apart from his baptism at St Dunstans and marriage have nothing else.
