Dead before his time
My Great Grandfathers brother Phillip Davies vanished in to thin air after 1891 and I thought he had died, no matter how hard I looked he was in no area I thought he should be...namely Shropshire. No ammount of trawling the 1901 revealed him to me. Then came 1911 and woooohooooo there he was large as life in Cheshire not two minutes away from my G Granddad, and also came the answer as to where he was in 1901.
In the 1911 he had two daughters and one was born in Scotland, not far from where I live now. That solved the mystery, because he was my english side I never thought about him being in Scotland....it also was fantastic because rooting out the daughters' birth on Scotlands People also revealed the Mothers surname was the correct one I had in my tree, I hadn't wanted to send for that cert so SP was a bonus as I got it on the cheap.
