prompted by this thread I have just googled 'Frederick Henry Foster' and found this link http://www.london-gazette.co.uk/issu.../4422/page.pdf Which I haven't seen before.

I'm afraid it's in legalese; can someone help? Is it talking about a will

It doesn't look like a will; it looks as if he was acting as an administrator of George Hawley's assets on behalf of George Hawley's creditors (of which he was one). I think it means that George Hawley was being declared bankrupt.

Hmmm, there's a bit of a problem with Googling for my 3xg-grandfather Josef Friedrich - now they've introduced that Google Instant thing, it decides I'm looking for Josef Fritzl while I'm in the middle of typing his name, and it shows me lots of pictures etc of Josef Fritzl, including a beach shot, before I get the chance to finish typing and click the "Search" button.

.......and Tom Tom, thankyou for that site - it has a lot of information on it - and it is such a shame that it doesn't cover the area my ancestors came from.
The list of accidents over the years make for interesting reading and includes names.

A very helpful site if you come from that area.
