We've just watched it. What an interesting programme.
I knew a tiny amount about partition. My mum obviously remembered it happening. I think she had a bit of a fascination with India, perhaps she knew her great grandfather was born there. I remember her telling me that Indians and Pakistani's hated each other. After the stories revealed in that programme you can see why. We have a lot of Asian taxi drivers here and I was talking to one once and told him about my ancestor being born in Ghazipoore. He said he knew Ghazipoore. It wasn't far from where he came from. He said the nearest airport was in Pakistan not India so when he goes home to see his parents he has to fly to Pakistan and then travel to his village in India.

I've just watched this and found it really interesting. I had no idea of what had happened during partition, nor that India had been so affected by the flu epidemic. Overall, I've enjoyed this series of WDYTYA.
