Fanny Berkin
Fanny Berkin/Burkin was born 3 July 1896. mmn Barnett. in Mile End.
Her brother Benjamin was born 1894 in Whitechapel. Their mother died and their father Morris Berkin remarried after the 1901 census. I assume they were in the East End in 1901, but cannot find the family. Morris was a cap-maker, born 1873 per his naturalisation papers https://www.ancestry.co.uk/interacti...nSearchResults Alec and Annie were children of Morris's second marriage, to Sarah. Can anyone find the first family in 1901?

I've looked at that, James, but Fanny and her brother have birth certificates in this country as Burkin/Berkin. Unfortunately, the naturalisation certificate gives no suggestions for other spellings of the name.

Yes, it does look like Morris has chosen English (or perhaps Jewish) names for himself and his children; it's very unlikely he was born with that name, and so tracing him prior to his naturalization may be difficult.
I'll keep looking, though!

A possibility for Morris (Gootmann) and Sarah in 1901, with a daughter named Rebecca.
Have you managed to trace any other births to the couple?

Morris says 4 children, no deaths. I can't see anyhting on the GRO index - and thought that Sarah was mother to all of them.
That ref you found is the same street as the family were in a decade later, so promising, but I'd expect Benjamin to be there too.

Do the two UK births you've found have baptisms?

Also interesting, although they're too old.
Possible, but not much to go on. Not sure who the child is.

They are Jewish, in a Jewish community, so I'd say unlikely.

Haha, what a stupid question! I even said they were Jewish a few posts ago.
