Some news to share (or maybe I'm bragging)
One of my rare visits to the site to share some news with friends old and new. As many you know I've been searching for birth family for a fair few years and knew there was a half brother out there, had all the certs and bits from ER's but he vanished from the records a few years ago.
I've found him!! It's taken a long time and I haven't spoken to him yet but through a relative of his I know he's alive and well and that he always knew his father was. He recently started to ask questions and wonder if there might be relatives out there. It's taken years to make the breakthrough and within 24 hours of doing so I've got pictures of him and know a bit about him, he'll soon have my contact details and hopefully he's sitting down when the bombshell of learning about 10 half siblings is mentioned. Sadly only 7 of the 10 are still around and some of us are struggling with the health, the joys of growing older eh? I found my sister Sheila many years ago and promised I'd do my best to answer the mystery of the letters sent to her mother back in 1950, today I've kept that promise. I'm shamelessly bragging but I've been bursting to tell someone all day and well, here I am doing just that. You'd think after finding so many over the years I'd be used to it by now but this feels special for some reason. I haven't done it all on my own, quite a few of you have helped steer me along over the years and pointed me in certain directions and a lot of what's happened today is down to those people. To those who have helped, commented or just followed along quietly in the background THANKYOU, not just from me but also from Sheila and the rest of us.

Well done Glen, and thanks for the update!
I am about to start helping my sister in law trace her other adopted half siblings. She thought she had one half sibling and is now up to 8 or 9 and feeling a bit shell shocked about that! I was able to tell her that she is not alone in that, based on your and others experience! Hopefully you can get to talk to your half brother soon.

That is amazing, Glen, and it sounds as if your brother is ready to make contact too, which is the icing on the cake!
Even those of us with Janet and John families understand the excitement of breakthroughs - and the difficulty in finding others to appreciate just what it means.
