Hmmm.....I wonder if I read some of the small print incorrectly as William Jarman Cross remarries in Q3 1838 Thornbury district to Mary Elizabeth Ward but without Margaret Ann Cross apparently dying. *sigh*.
Anyway, I doubt any of this matters but knowing how these rich families like to stick together I'm just going round hoping to find people e already know mentioned!

You are full of interesting info Merry.
The Ariels were all non-con, but the Clarks were very C of E. Edward's brother was a minister. I assumed the Farrs would be as well. Off to have a lookee.

Henry Farr didn't marry Margaret Ann Shearman until two months after the death of her mother (who was married to Rev Cross, the Baptist minister. Mrs Cross died in May 1837). I expect you know where he married Elizabeth Naylor Ariel (see, I can remember who he married now without looking!) - was that in the C of E or a dissenting church? It might give an indication of who held the power in the relationship!

Henry Farr and Elizabeth Naylor Ariel were married 21st oct 1840 at The Parish Church St George, Brandon hill, Bristol, by licence. The minister was John Vincent.
Witnesses were Myles Ariel, Harriet Farr, Edward Clark, H. M. Clark. Henry's father was Thomas Clark, Gentleman of Newport Monmouthshire.

You mean Thomas Farr not Clark!
Interesting when his will says he is Thomas Farr silversmith of Bristol! Maybe he owned lots of property - his was the long will I didn't read all of. I just came across this post I wrote two years ago which made me laugh: Quote:

Not sure about a screenplay.......I think a series....it would go longer than Days of Our Lives.....lol
Yes, I did mean Thomas Farr. Thomas Clark was Edward's father...... I'm assuming the H. M. Clark could be Edward's brother, Henry, the doctor.

I have Thomas Farr's will. It's only two pages but not easy to read. I'll persevere.
