Better than scanning at 600, is to scan at 300 and increase the scale but you need to watch the file size doesn't get HUGE if you're emailing or submitting your pic to a website.

Can't give you an absolute scale % as each pic varies ~ but if your pics are postcard size, you could try 150% and see.

Very much out of practice at the moment haven't done any restoration for ages. Also trying to get to grips with a new program.

Haven't got time to do the other one I'm afraid.

Great job Rachel - you can see her curls now!

I think photo bucket was playing up yesterday as someone else had problems. I rather like Image Shack now that I've tried it.

One thing tho, the photo of the little girl was actually taken in the same spot - her mother on one side, her on the other - could you match (sort of) - the backgrounds, so they are clearer (on the little girl)

I had forgotten an army photo - which is here. (bit of a mess)

Not sure what you mean about matching the background so I'll leave that for someone else ~ also the final pic. doesn't really take my fancy
I'm quite picky these days and think this was my first restore for about a year (apologies).

Larger file sizes would produce better results. Your scans are pixellated because of the file sizes

Photobucket is working now so here's the pic you want restoring ~ your link does not appear to work

What I meant Rachel, was that the lady in white and the little girl had their photos taken at the same place. She had hers taken on the left side, and the little girl on the right. Note the vase in the middle. Its the same one. I just thought it was a bit dark behind the little girl, that's all.

I'll try Photo bucket for the other pic. Maybe someone else will have a go. Thanks anyway - you did a great job.
