Findmypast Micropayments
I had heard that Findmypast was replacing their pay-as-you-go credits system with "micropayments" in July, whereby you only pay to view the particular record you want, instead of having to pay for several at a time. But it is still only showing me the option of subscribing or buying a load of credits when I try to view a record, even though it's August now. Is anyone seeing the micropayments option yet?

KiteRunner, Have you checked with you local library, because since the lockdown began I have been able to access Findmypast through my library service.

I am still only getting the options of subscribing and buying a load of credits, yet if I click through to find out about how pay as you go credits work, I get a page saying they have been discontinued and replaced by micropayments! But nothing to say how I can make a micropayment to view a record. I have contacted FMP Support to ask them for help.

I got a reply from FMP support to say they are phasing out credits but they can still be purchased at the moment. I will wait until I am offered the chance to make a "micropayment".

If these Micropayments become available next year, I suspect despite the inference of micro payments it will cost us more, particularly with the release of the 1921 Census, or am I just cynical?

I expect the 1921 census will be separate from the FMP subscriptions at first.

I am at last getting the micropayment option. Glad to see that Paypal is one of the payment methods you can use for it.
