Catholic baptism question
I have no experience with Catholic records!
I'm looking at a 1745 Irish Catholic baptism and under the name of the child and parents are two more names. I'm assuming they are the godparents can someone confirm this or otherwise please. Jacobus Daws 5th Aug halfway down the right hand page. https://www.ancestry.co.uk/interacti...391.1590154387 Thanks

Yes, they are the godparents or sponsors.
Jacobus is James or Jacob. |

Thanks, Elizabeth. I knew Jacobus = James, am I right in thinking that Isabelle could be Elizabeth? Or have I dreamt that?

Yes, Isabelle was sometimes used as a variant of Elizabeth but of course sometimes as a name of its own.

Took me ages to cotton on to the fact that Isabelle and Elizabeth were interchangeable particularly in Scotland.
