Sancton William Wood Bell
I am helping with someone's family, who has the glorious name of Sancton. The only understanding of the name is with the place in Yorkshire. There was a school master by the name of John Bell in the 1840/50s. From what I can see John's descendants ended up in South Africa.
Sancton WW Bell died in Sydney NSW in 1926, his father is named as George. His body was taken to Gunnedah where his headstone says he is aged 73 years. Sancton (Index says Laveton) was married in 1882 at Coonabarabran to Louisa Jane Ray nee Gardiner. At the moment we do not have the marriage cert and I am wondering if anyone of the forum might have info that may shed some light on his origins. Thanks.
