Staffordshire name indexes - Genealogists' Forum

Staffordshire record office has recently added a couple of databases to its name indexes, which now include the following databases (the last two are the latest ones):

Staffordshire Name Indexes

Calendars of Prisoners at Staffordshire Quarter Sessions, 1779-1880
Staffordshire Police Force Registers Index, 1842-1920
Diocese of Lichfield Wills, 1650-1730
Staffordshire Apprentices, 1600-1900
Workhouse Admissions and Discharges, 1836-1900
Tenants of the Manor of Newcastle under Lyme, 1700-1832
Parish Clerks, Diocese of Lichfield, 1691-1916
Stafford Gaol Photograph Albums Index, 1877-1916
Quarter Sessions Jurors Lists Index, 1811-1831

Some of the databases (e.g. the Wills index) also include some records from parishes in other counties (such as Warwickshire and Derbyshire) that fell within the Lichfield diocese.

Let me know of any Staffs names or addresses - I have quite a few old postcards, some with names, Staffs and non-Staffs addresses etc. I am quite happy to have a look through for FMs.

If you have any Dawsons, Simpsons, Reads or Hawkins from Newcastle under Lyme, Stoke on Trent, Etruria areas I would be interested. Thanks for searching.

Babs - none of those places at all, or any Johnsons.
Mary - none of those names, no Whittington as a place. Couple of addresses near Lichfield but nothing specific.
Kit - I will have another look through sometime soon.

I am listing postcards again but I have rather a lot so it might be easier to just look at them on ebay for your names and addresses. Obviously if I notice one I will let you know.
