I don't have anyone in my tree to check, but Allan posted a thread the other day, so I searched on those names. The search is free, but you have to pay to view the papers - £3.36. However, the one I looked at did say where the person was from and the date they were naturalised.

There isn't a way to check on surname variants, but you can use * to replace characters.
