Sue, I checked Robert's baptism in the parish register for you:

Baptised at St Marys, Charlton Kings:
6 Mar 1814 Robert s/o Thomas and Sarah Cleevley, of Charlton Kings, Labourer

Other children baptised all "of Thomas and Sarah, Charlton Kings, Labourer" found in the register:

6 Oct 1816 John Cleevely
28 Feb 1819 Martha Cleeveley
21 Jan 1821 Thomas Cleevley

Then I had a look for his parents marriage, and found this:

Married at Hempsted, Gloucester by banns on 1 November 1813:
Thomas CLEVELE [stet] of the extra parochial hamlet of Littleworth and
Sarah ROBERTS of the same hamlet.
X both
Witnesses: Thomas X Stephens, Mary X Stephens

Is it just me, or don't those dates add up? If Thomas James was 50 in 1916 then he was born in 1865 - 1866, but both his parents were dead by then? Is it his age at death that's wrong?

Many many thanks once again Sabrina I'll update my post and my FTM.

Kite
Thomas James Cleveley was born in 1856 so he must have been 60 when he died if the date of death is correct on the gravestone.

You are welcome Sue.

I could look out for the gravestone, next time I go church crawling, if you would like me to.

Yes please. That would be fantastic, if it's not too much trouble. Thank you.
