Default Searching Scotland

I'd like to get back into searching my Scottish lot.

Anyone know if there are any new sites or no info added anywhere, before I buy a million Scotland's People credits?

Last time I looked at SP, I couldn't find what I was after.

I need prior to about 1820 and in the Cabrach area. It's like Bristol in England and has no idea which county it should belong to so moves around.

Of course the names are Grant, Gordon, Kellas and Stewart so not rare.

Thanks

Think familysearch is probably your best option for that timescale to narrow down the options for Scotlandspeople.

Otherwise perhaps the Scottish National Archives might have some other info but would probably need to visit or someone to do it on your behalf.

The search facility on SP has been changed in the last year or so, improved in some ways and worsened in others.

The name variations options don't work properly, or at least they didn't when the changes were introduced. I haven't tried them recently.

Have you looked at this site Libby? I don't know how up-to-date it is, but may contain something of interest.
