Are they really genealogists in that programme or actors playing the role?

According to the blurb, it's one genealogist, one historian and one law lecturer and historian, who "had to absorb a great deal of knowledge in a short time". One cannot help wondering why they didn't just use THREE qualified genealogists.

Surely Tess was wrong to say that they had proved that the woman wasn't related to Kate Middleton? She should just have said that they hadn't been able to find any relationship.
