Default Taking photos of photo's

Have tried but not got very good results - out of focus or skew wiff.

Need some sort of stand that holds the camera from above but can't think of what they might be called or where they can be purchased.
Any ideas please.

I asked my OH to read the page Kate linked to, as he is quite experienced in photographing documents and photos. He said it was all very good advice.

Tried scanning but was useless at it.

Thanks for the link.

Thought there was a stand you could attach your camera to - to look down on the photo but I can't seem to see one anywhere.
