Default Ordered the wrong birth cert & now can't find the right one!

Hannah Fisher was born & or baptised at Tilston, Cheshire 15/12/1858 the daughter of Eliza Fisher, spinster (source Cheshire Parish Register Project site)

Stupidly I ordered the birth of Hannah Fisher registered Dec 1860 Great Broughton. Very annoyed with myself for ordering the wrong cert but it's only my second wrong one in 14 years of research so I can't beat myself up too much I suppose!

This woman has been the bain life for the last 10 years as she uses 2 different surnames for her father on her 2 marriages, uses Hannah, Elizabeth, Hannah Elizabeth & Elizabeth Hannah on various documents, can't decide if she was born in Cheshire or Wales & or when she was born. Finally she gave her birthplace as Tilston on the 1911 census.

Anyway rant over, i've searched CheshireBMD & freebmd but can't find a suitable birth, can anyone else?

Cheers

JayG

She may not have been registered - it wasn't compulsory at the time.

I'm starting to think that her birth wasn't OC as i'm struggling to find births of her half siblings!

At first glance there doesn't seem to be one. Maybe she wasn't registered. Is the same place of birth given on all census records?

1861 aged 2 & 1871 aged 12 born Tilston, Cheshire, she's missing in 1881, on 1891 aged 29 born Cheshire, on 1901 aged 40 born Cardiff, Wales & on 1911 aged 49 born Tilston.

Don't but put off by the 1891 birthplace!

Cheshire RO have done a manual search for her birth & can't find one so it looks like she wasn't registered
