I received mine today and was very interested to find you can send for a copy of pre 1837 parish registers for $2 each, which could be handy for me as my LDS is hard to get to,

I put a thread on general about this newsletter.

The founder has been using members email addresses to see if they had set privacy settings on their amazon wishlists. he hadn't read the instructions and wondered how many others haven't.

I find this to be a breach of privacy and a misuse of members details. It is also against lostcousins privacy policy.

Just received a rude reply from the founder in relation to my complaint he breached people's privacy. He sees no problem in breaching a persons privacy, although he doesn't like it that, in his opinion, Amazon has a security breach. Having checked Amazon this morning, they have privacy options, you can chose a private or public setting, so there is no breach.

I have put the full reply on my thread on general.

I thought that sounded interesting, but if you download the application form there are some examples on it, and it looks as though you only get the same information that's on the IGI, not all the additional information you'd find on the actual register.

Not sure if you have the same form as i have Mary, but mine has no examples on it and the lady who passed the information on said original copies of the registers.

I downloaded mine from the Lost cousins newsletter

When you go to this page of the newsletter:

http://www.lostcousins.com/newslette...egister_copies

it says "it is possible to order printed copies using this form on the Family Search site", which links to http://www.familysearch.org/eng/sear...es/FReqIGI.pdf

At the end of that page there's a printed form which has been filled in with what looks like the standard IGI transcription. I didn't find anything else.

Mary - I had understood those to be examples of how to complete the form, rather than examples of what information would be received. You've got me wondering now.

You're probably right, that hadn't occurred to me.
