FMP also comes up with Catharine baptised 14 Apr 1805 and Martha 1 May 1816 (transcribed as Dobbs.) Abode for Martha is Street Lane, occupation Lime Man.

FMP has an Edward Dobbs / Bell Hendry marriage 12 Jan 1797 at Dalkeith, Midlothian, Scotland. I was going to ignore it but then I seemed to remember I saw a female Dabbs from Scotland in Wellington on a census late last night! I'll see if I can find her again...

All of which doesn't help with exactly how your Millbrow is related to Edward.

And in 1841 Bell (Isabella) is on the same image as your Millbrow and lots of other Dabbses:

Also one of them on the previous image.

On that census, William's birthplace is Wellington, but on other censuses there is a William born Edinburgh, who looks to be the same person. So I imagine he must be a son of Edward and Bell, although I haven't found a baptism for him yet.

Thanks Kate.

All really interesting. There must be some link to the Millbraham in the generation before.

Wonder if there are non-con baptisms around anywhere.

Milbrough Dubbs buried in 1816, aged 85 (born c1731) must be the one married to William.

The Edward Dobbs / Bell Hendry marriage is on Scotland's People, so you could view the image to see if there is any more information, such as whether Edward was a widower. Though of course it might not say.

Bought the marriage on Scotland's People (annoying, as I had 4 credits, and it was 6, so had to buy some more) but it doesn't give any clues.
Actually, quite hard to read, but don't think it says anything about his condition.

Edit: does say he was a Corporal in the ?? ?? Militia
