Default Marriage of Eliza Buckley and Henry Crompton

The will for Abel Buckley has arrived.

His daughter was Eliza, born 1812 in the Dukinfield area.
She married twice, firstly to Henry Crompton and secondly to John Rugg Lewis, a solicitor.

Daily News (London) 08 May 1847

LEWIS - CROMPTON
May 5, at the Tabernacle, Wotton-under-Edge, by the Revd. R. Knill, Mr J.R. Lewis, soiicitor, to Eliza, the relict of the late H. Crompton Esq., of Moss Lodge, Ashton under Line.

When did Henry marry Eliza?
Did they have children?

Henry died in 1845:

Manchester Courier and Lancashire General Advertiser 22 March 1845
On the 9th inst., aged 33 years, at his residence, Moss Cottage, Ashton-under-Lyne, Henry Crompton, Esq.
I'm sure I saw something about the Channel Islands, but I can't find it now.

On FMP newspaper database there is the following from the Preston Chronicle dated 21 July 1838 - "On the 4th ult., at the British Amshassador's Chapel, ?Naples, Mr. Crompton, son of Henry Crompton, Esq. late of Paris, to Miss Buckley, of Mloss Lodge, near Aslhtot-uinder.Lyne."
Sorry I don't have a subscription to correct the text
Family Search has indexed it as "Name: Hoy Crompton; Sex Male; Spouse's Name Eliza Buckley; Spouse's Sex: Female

Wow, thanks! I have been trawling FMP newspapers but didn't find this!

Eliza's father Abel Buckley is OH's 4x-great-uncle.

Thanks, Kate.

Eliza was an only child (as far as I'm aware). Her mother Ann died young.

Here is John Buckley Crompton's baptism record:
https://www.ancestry.co.uk/imageview...rce&pId=226551

Baptised 9 Jan 1840 at Ashton Under Lyne, the son of Henry and Eliza Crompton of Moss Lodge, father's occupation gentleman.

Then strangely enough, there is an entry for him in the National Probate Calendar for 1862 saying he died 16 Jul 1840 at St Helier's, Jersey:

Eliza's mother was only 19 when she died. How sad.
