in 1738 Mary was left £20 by her grandfather John Norman, surgeon of Maresfield.

Under the terms of her father's will, Mary's mother had a life interest in his estate and on her mother's death Mary and her two sisters Georgeanna and Jane were to inherit, but Mary predeceased her mother. Both sisters died unmarried and childless, Jane was the last to die and left many legacies to the sons and daughters of Mary.
