Married Frances Green at St George Bloomsbury on 23 Jan 1823
Occupation(s) - if any
Servant/labourer/messenger before about 1846.
After 1846, up-market lodging-house keeper till his death; called himself a gentleman on children's marriage certs

Addresses where they lived (including county if in UK) - and please list which censuses you have or haven't found him/her on (if s/he lived in census times!).
1820s and 1830s - various addresses in the St Pancras area, London
1841 - Warwick Street, Westminster
1851 through to the 1880s - 7 St Alban Place, St James, Westminster

Died 15 May 1882 at 7 St Alban Place, Westminster; decay of nature

Not found. Which is odd, because the family story is he was wealthy and bought quite a lot of land in Surrey/south London. In family papers I also have a handbill from about the 1860s concerning the sale of an estate in that area which might back up that story

Maybe he managed to transfer all his assets to his children before his death to avoid death duties?
