Further research, including the Will of William Chaplin has shown that Mary's maiden name was Mary Trumplet(t) and she was baptised in Hampstead Norreys (or Norris) Berkshire, to William and Mary (Hill) Trumplet.

William Chaplin and Mary Trumplett married 3 Aug 1786 at St Marylebone, Middlesex.

They had only two children, William born 1797 and Elizabeth Mary born 1799.

I now think Mary died in 1838 at Hampstead Norris but I need to do more work on the whole family.
