Oooo I don't know, but sounds like a very small document? How much do they want to view? I have been disappointed a bit in the documents I have downloaded from there, they have all cost about £3.50 which is fine if it's something like a will....

It's not downloadable Joan, can only view it at Kew.

3 days notice. mmmm. Phoenix comes to mind lol

C 16/84 Chancery pleadings described at item level. Just wonder whether the information available will actually tell me anything!

You can ask them to quote a price for sending a pdf document to you either by email or on a disk. I did one recently and it was £15 for an A3 size page.

Yes I have done that before Margaret but I just want to know first I think what the info is and whether it is worth sending for. I think I'll ask sks who is visiting Kew next to have a look for me.

Yes that's a good idea, I wish I had done it for mine because the document I got was only part of the whole law suit and it didn't really tell me anything other than give me an idea that husband and wife had seriously fallen out!

Lol!

For some reason, best known to the clerks of the day, items were filed in strict chronological order, rather than by case. Bit like me shoving all my filing into a big carrier bag, vowing to do it "some day".
Consequently, these records have rarely been looked at, because you have to wade through everything for the next bit of paper.

A team at TNA have been cataloguing this. I don't know if they are working steadily through, or have a remit just to catalogue a sample. The records are kept in Cheshire because, surprisingly, nobody ordered them because nobody knew what they contained.

The bill is, I think, the first salvo and should set out why the will is being contested.

As for going there to look at it
Ask me nicely!

Hello Phoenix,
Is pretty please OK?

Do you need anymore info from me?

It was lovely to meet you again at the Norwich meet. I would really like to get down to Kew sometime but these days I don't appear to have much time to get further south than Norfolk.

Pretty please is fine!

I hope to go soon, but have a very crowded schedule. So if you see me putting anything under events, please remind me again.

And Norfolk is better than London anyday. I planned on spending a week - I got 2hrs in the RO, and lunch! And yes, it was great to see you again!
