Default 'paid a mortuary 10sh'

Have found this comment for a burial in 1730. Am assuming this to mean that the person was kept in a mortuary before burial, would this be correct?
Thank you

I don't think so. One of the definitions of mortuary in Chambers' Dictionary is "a payment to the parish priest on the death of a parishioner".
