Henry Taylor, son of Thomas
This is Henry's wedding:
https://www.ancestry.co.uk/interacti...nSearchResults Henry marries in Bethnal Green in 1870, when he declares himself to be of full age, son of Thomas, fruiterer. His age on subsequent censuses wobbles about 1850, and when he can be bothered, he declares he was born in Shoreditch. Here he is in 1901: https://www.ancestry.co.uk/interacti...nSearchResults Aged 50, born Shoreditch, and definitely the right man as his son Frederick married the girl next door. But where is he in 1861 and possibly in 1851? I pursued a Thomas Taylor b Mendham Suffolk with a son Henry of the right age, but that Henry is still with his parents in 1871, while mine already had a family. Any suggestions welcome.

There is this Henry, born 1846, but his dad was a piano forte maker.

And this is my Henry in 1871, when possibly most likely to be lying:

There are lots of missing bit of the 1861 census, Phoenix, so maybe he was in one of those?

There's another Henry b abt 1849/50 in Shoreditch, son of Hannah (widow in 1861) who I looked at for a while (dad not at home in 1851 either!), but it turns out his father is Samuel, china dealer.

Taylor is not a good name to research. I am fairly sure that these people do NOT link to Best Mate's DNA - on the Taylor line, any way - but I cannot find Henry before his marriage to prove or disprove things. It might easily turn out that he was brought up under a different name as a child.
Thank you both for looking. I've been going cross-eyed trying to find something. And it doesn't help when they change their mind about their age on every record.
