James Russell
James Russell was appointed Commissary Clerk at Dunblane in 1729 and I have also seen him recorded as Bailie of the Regality of Dunblane.
I know his wife, Marion Robertson, died in 1794 at Dunblane as I have a book called "The Scots Magazine: Or General Repository of Literature, History and Politics Vol 56" that says she was his widow, she was in her 89th year and she died at Dumblane. James had children baptised - Lilias 1733, Agnes 1736, Margaret 1738, George 1739, Janet 1740, James 1741, Henry 1744, David 1747 and Isabel 1748. No mother is recorded. I can not find a marriage nor a death or will for James and Marion. I'm not asking anyone to spend money on Scotland's People but if anyone could find anything suitable I have 22 credits I need to spend soon, according to an email I received the other day. I've also had a quick look on ancestry but can't find anything there either. I've tried google but keep getting sidetracked. James is the father of my David Russell of Woodside, the one with a portrait at Glasgow in 1894, now???

I can't find them either. There don't seem to be any Dunblane death records that early.
