Default Re. Rachel, William Evans' wife

I had this from a contact:

"Also it might be worth digging a bit deeper with regard to the Phillips family.

I found this –

344.
1703, Nov. 1

1. Elizabeth Phillips of Neath, widow and relict of William Phillips the elder, late of Penruttin, co. Glam., gent., dec., and mother and executrix and trustee of William Phillips the younger and mother of Jeremiah Phillips, gent., his brother, also dec.; Phillip Williams of Dyffrin, gent ., another trustee, Rees Preece of Tilecoch, gent., another trustee, Edward *Gwyn* of Brecon, clerk, another trustee, and
Elizabeth, his wife, one of the daughters of the said William Phillips the elder, *Thomas _Easten_ of Cirencester, Gloucestershire, doctor of physick, and Rachell, his wife, *one other daughter of the said William Phillip the elder, and William Bourdon of Neath, gent., and Anne, his wife, another daughter 2. Michael Williams of Newcastle, gent., and Hester, his wife 3. Robert *Button* of Cotterell, esq., and William Thomas of Colwinston, gent.
DEED OF PARTITION of the estate of William Phillips the elder, William Phillips the younger, and Jeremiah Phillips among the daughters of William Phillips the elder, which estate included the m., lands, mill, etc. ..........."

The name EASON or EASTON has cropped up before.

William Eason Lamb was baptised 16th June 1752 at Huntingdon. He was the grandson of William and Susannah Lamb (Susanna daughter of William and Rachel Evans).

In 1776 Sarah Powell, the aunt of the Evans sisters, made her will. Ann Evans, later Ann Bassett, was the main beneficiary. Sarah Powell also named:
"Mr Thomas Eason of the City of Bristol".
The National Archives has the PCC will of "Thomas Easton" of Bristol in 1770. I wonder if he was the father?

This is probably the marriage of Richard Powell to Sarah Easton:

Re. William Easton and Rachel Phillips:

From Family Search:

Children of Thomas Easton:
Frances 18 Jan 1682
Phillips 15 Nov 1692
Anne 17 Jan 1694 Mother given as Rachel
Thomas 27 April 1698
Mary 23 Dec 1701

Three children with the surname Easton - no parents names

Jeremiah
Rachel
both baptised 15 Feb 1699

Sarah baptised 23 Oct 1704

Could Rachel 1699 and Sarah 1703 be the respective wives of William Evans and Richard Powell? Sarah the wife of Richard probably married too late for children so it fits.

Sarah leaves her property to Rachel's daughter.

But WHERE IS the marriage of Rachel and William Evans?

The images are on Ancestry and the father of Jeremiah and Rachel was Thomas Easton:

It's looking promising.

Result!

The will of Thomas Easton is on Ancestry!

http://interactive.ancestry.co.uk/42...nSearchResults

"... to my daughter Rachell Evans..."

also
"my daughter Mary wife of Howell Gwynn Esq"

I'm so excited about this - I've been looking for so long.

The will of William Phillips, father of Rachel Easton, is on Ancestry:

It's a real gem.

Edit:
It's the will of her brother, not her father.
