But your Jim Lawrance was on the 1911 census with his mum, so that must be a different one.

Erm....................I don't know if I'm just losing it, but I can't find the death in 1902?????????????

can someone else find it please, as Zoe has gone, and post it up?

The birth to match it with was

Births Mar 1902
LAWRANCE Edward James Bramley 9b 374

I tried the following deaths for 1902 (as per Zoe's post #61):

Edward J Lawrance result none
Edward J Lawrence result two right for age, but one in Bridgend and one in West Ham (so both 100s of miles from Bramley)

and as Zoe said James Edward in both her posts:

James E Lawrance result none
James E Lawrence result one in Pontefract whose age doesn't fit.

So, another mystery!

Yorkshire Marriage indexes for the years: 1927
Surname Forename(s) Surname Forename(s) Church / Register Office Registers At Reference
LAWRANCE Edward
FERGUSON Elsie M
All Hallows with St Simon, Leeds Leeds

We would have to check out other Edward Lawrances.

There is another Edward Lawrance, without the "J", so this is probably his marriage.

Yorkshire Birth indexes for the years: 1905
Surname Forename(s) Sub-District Registers At
LAWRANCE Edward Kirkstall Leeds
