Default 2 million Hertfordshire parish records - findmypast

01 July 2013

We've added almost two million new Hertfordshire parish baptisms, marriages and burials 1538-1990
to make it easier than ever to trace your ancestors further back through history.

Full details of what this exciting record release contains are as follows:
Baptisms 803,133 records for the period 1538-1910 – see a list of parishes and dates covered (PDF)
Banns 164,314 records for the period 1653-1928 – see a list of parishes and dates covered (PDF)
Marriages 297,962 records for the period 1538-1928 – see a list of parishes and dates covered (PDF)
Burials 605,940 records for the period 1538-1990 – see a list of parishes and dates covered (PDF)

This collection also includes the parishes of Chipping and East Barnet and Totteridge which, since 1965, formed part of the London Borough of Barnet.

These records are brought to you as a result of a new partnership between findmypast.co.uk and Hertfordshire Archives and Local Studies.

Thanks, Jay.

This is the link to their news page:

I have a branch from Northaw but the baptisms they have released for that parish only go back as far as 1769 and the latest baptisms I would need to look at are around 1715. They have got Northaw burials back to 1678 so maybe I can find some of mine in there.

They don't seem to have much for Shenley, either, so I won't be solving the mystery of the Tuffnalls for my OH's branch any time soon.

Ooh, lots of Adams burials at Northaw! And... the images are also available as part of the world sub on the US site. I thought they might take a while for that site to catch up with the UK site, but they are there already!

Today they have added baptisms and burials for Ashwell and Baldock, and marriages for Hatfield, Northaw and Royston.
