Default Newton muddle!

OH's 3x-great-uncle was Thomas Newton, born 1771/2 at Braceby, Lincolnshire.
He married Elizabeth Hutchinson in 1793 and their children were baptised at Swaton, near Great Hale.

The children are a muddle.

In 1851 William Newton, baptised in 1803, appears to be on the 1851 Census with his "wife" Charlotte (Bower).
Charles Newton, son, is 16. He was baptised at Boston on 25th August 1835 - Charlotte was unmarried. William's age is out by a few years.

No marriage between William and Charlotte can be found. However, there is this marriage:
https://search.findmypast.co.uk/reco...2F00369279%2F2

Edward Newton, father Thomas a farmer, marries Charlotte Bower in Skirbeck 2nd December 1841.

This is all I have found of the siblings so far.

Others were: Ann, Thomas, Joseph, Elizabeth and John.

Any help with filling in the gaps would be appreciated.

I do have a clue for Thomas, son of Thomas.

The will of Joseph Newton, brother to Thomas senior, in 1841:

"And as to all the Rest residue and remainder of my monies estate and effects whatsoever and wheresoever that I shall be possessed of at the time of my decease I give and bequeath the same and every part thereof unto my said Executors upon trust to lay out and invest the same when converted into money in the public stocks or funds of Great Britain and to stand possessed thereof upon the trusts an for the ends intents and purposes after mentioned that is to say upon trust to pay and apply yearly the sum of twenty pounds in and towards the mainteanance and education of William Newton son of Thomas Newton late of Billingborough Lincolnshire deceased and now about five ^eight ^ years of age and under my care until the said William Newton shall have attained his full age of fourteen years "

William Newton was baptised at Billingborough in 1835, mother Elizabeth.

The occupations of Edward per marriage and William per census are the same, and it is patently the same Charlotte as her father is with her in 1851.

Baptisms at Swaton:

Ann 1796
Joseph 1800
Thomas 1801
Elizabeth 1804
John 1808

There were a couple more who died in infancy.

He had moved to Islington. It is a PCC will.
He never married and left bequests to his brothers' children and also OH's 3x-great-grandmother Isabella Newton, widow of Joseph's brother John.

These could belong to the family (halfway down the second page):

That looks promising, Kate. I have seen a Claypole / Newton marriage in an online tree.

A very cryptic entry on Lincs to the Past:

'Newton a Lunatic'

Reference Name KQS/F/Clerks' Papers/7(1830)/4
Correspondence about the liability of the parish of Swaton for his maintenance. Includes letters from Charles Chaplin and Ben. Smith (agent to the owner of the parish).

Extent: 9 items

Date: Mar-Apr 1830

Repository: Lincolnshire Archives [057]
