Name of child? - Genealogists' Forum

For those with access to FMP:

About a quarter way down the left-hand page there is a baptism for a daughter of Thomas Shadforth and Elizabeth his wife on 6th November.

Can anyone make out her Christian name? Family search haven't transcribed it. I have an idea what I think it is, but opinions would be welcome.

It isn't easy to navigate, so if you give up I won't blame you. The indexing is rubbish.
Image 7 is 1645 - 1648, then image 8 jumps to 1659.

It could start with an R as I was looking at a name above hers.

I also wondered about Hannah? But I'm not convinced.

Why is it only the one you want that is so particularly difficult?

Is that Roberta a line or two below?

Hmm. Look at Anthony Hollond on the next page. I can't spot a flourish for the H (nor can I in the middle of your name!)

Yes, it looks like an R. No wonder Family Search didn't transcribe it.

I keep getting lots of baptisms, then a few burials, but what happened to the other children when they grew up I don't know. I don't seem to find many marriages or later burials.

I'll have to look out for likely candidates for this girl, but no sign of her so far.

The image is better than Lincs on Line, but it needs a strong UV light, or colour - though I know it would be sepia on sepia

Hope you find something that hints at the right name.

Thanks, Phoenix. It's not that important in the scheme of things, but I don't like loose ends. This Shadford/Shadforth family is complicated.
