Which one do I order?
Caroline Venn married James Thorne on 1/5/1858 in Kings Brompton Somerset (also called Bromptonregis).
They have a daughter Mary Anne born 7/1/1859 Kingsbrompton. Have birth cert. In 1861 the family were living in Luxborough according to the census. I can't find them on FMP to confirm. They have another daughter Rosa born 2Q 1861 in Bromptonregis. (according to 1871 census) James remarries in 1866 to Emmaline Hocombe so I looked for deaths for Caroline. I've found 2 possible deaths but I have no idea which to chose. 1. Deaths Jun 1863 Thorne Caroline Tiverton 5b 313 2. Deaths Dec 1863 THORNE CAROLINE Williton 5c 270 I found a burial for a Caroline in Kings Brompton on 4/10/1863 Kingsbrompton. I had thought the second one was right as the burial is in Brompton Regis and the children were born in Brompton Regis but Bromptom Regis comes under Tiverton. Luxborough is under Williton. So I'm cinfused. Any opinions please?

She may not have been buried in the same place where she died; they may have had a burial plot in the place where they lived before and used it for her.

That burial is on FreeREG - Caroline Thorne buried 4 Oct 1863 at the Blessed Virgin Mary, Brompton Regis, age 28, abode Luxborough. So definitely go for the second of those death certs.

No Libby no ages on freebmd. Kate I found my burial elsewhere not freeREG. I will take your advice and order that cert. Thanks for your help.

Sorry, Kit, I assumed you had found the burial elsewhere because you didn't seem to have as much info as FreeREG had, didn't make myself very clear!

There are no ages in the indexes before 1866. The age will be on the death cert though.

Thanks Margaret. Sadly the age isn't much use on the death cert if you don't know which one you want. lol I don't like using checking points, I'd rather just get the cert so I know for sure what is and isn't on it, so specifying an age wouldn't have made me comfortable in my order.
