Familysearch
I haven't used this site for a long time but for the last two evenings have spent hours trying to access some information I had from there many years ago. I did print off the info at the time but that print is now buried in my daughter's attic!
Basically, I am trying to access the Scottish census 1861. I finally found the search page, eventually filled in the details, then was wizzed into a page of random completely irrelevant results from any old census. Am I missing something? Is there a secret I don't know about? OC |

Does this link work for you:
https://www.familysearch.org/search/...Open=581167-50 It looks as if that census can only be accessed at Family History Centres. There's a nasty little lock by the image symbols.

You can search the Scottish censuses for free on Scotland's People. You only have to pay to view the images.

Thanks Kate. I wanted to retrace my research steps but it's really just the reference I need for my records. Off out now but will have a play tomorrow with SP.
