Hi Sally.

Have you ever used Yorkshire BMD? It is very good for Leeds marriages, and often tells you the church they married in which means it can easily be looked up at the library.

Just googled and found this. Don't know if you have it already.

George Brow DICKINSON
Born 1855 at Bramley near Leeds, son of John DICKINSON, quarryman, and his wife Ann. In 1883 at Leeds he married Tamar Alice BERRY and their children included Annie DICKINSON 1883, Hilda DICKINSON 1885, John DICKINSON 1888, Fred DICKINSON 1890, Mabel DICKINSON 1891, George Brow DICKINSON 1893 and Stella DICKINSON 1899. His wife Tamar died in 1903. Along with his brothers he devoted his working life to boot manufacturing and maintained strong links with the Public Benefit Boot Co.

Thank you Tom, I will have a look at that.

Maggie, yes I have all the Dickinson information and fascinating it is too - the were founders of the Public Benefit Boot Co. and it grew from tiny beginnings in a back room into a vast empire which was eventually taken over by Lilly and Skinner. Mabel was my grandmother.

Thank you both for your trouble.
